I am so glad you are here. I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my blog, T is for Tot.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I live in Tennessee with my husband, Steve, and my two boys, Jackson and Jarrett. Jackson is 2.5 years old and we just had Jarrett in May!
I taught in Nashville for 8 years; kindergarten for 7 years. I took this year off to stay home with my two boys. I absolutely love teaching kindergarten. It’s literally the best age! My favorite part about teaching kindergarten is I get to be their first experience in school. I love laying the foundation.
WHY I STARTED THIS BLOG
Over the years with teaching Kindergarten, I’ve had many parents ask me how to get their child ready for kindergarten and what kids need or should know before they start. I would always give them advice. But after looking over Pinterest and Teachers Pay Teachers for many years, I realized there’s not really a one-stop-shop for parents to easily find preschool materials. It’s a lot of here’s a great worksheet, or another post of how to make letters fun, etc. But there’s not much about what to do to get your child ready for kindergarten- while, of course, having fun and knowing exactly how to teach preschool.
